Milena Govich
Milena Govich, a writer, actor and
musician, has directed numerous episodes of TV including Chicago Med (2015),
The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many
more. Additionally, she was the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS
series FBI (2018). She is currently working on two pilots currently in
progress. Milena was one of eight filmmakers selected for AFI's prestigious
Directing Workshop for Women, and also the only Sony Pictures Television
Diverse Directors Program. The short film she made and the TV series
proof-of-concept called Unspeakable, starring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober
It saw its World premiere at SXSW and was awarded the Best Episodic Award at
Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International
Film Festival. The film she made, Temporary (2017) was shown across the
country. She won the award for Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival.
Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. and the Director's Choice Award
from Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has appeared in
over 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's
Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of
Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), an episode of the Dick
Wolf series, was her second big role. It culminated in her being the
Emmy-winning woman detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The
Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori
Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or
recurred. Milena has appeared in many films which include Sordid Things (2010);
A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light
(2015) with the lead opposite Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number
(2015). Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of her high school
before completing an undergraduate degree in both vocal performance and
pre-med, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma,
as well as graduating valedictorian. She used her classical ballet training
shortly after to make her Broadway debut in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes
production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
