Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress director, activist, and actress. Her most famous role is the role of Ginny Weasley who is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the character for ten years before she was selected to appear in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). After the series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), as well as After the Dark (2014); the films were met with mixed reviews. Wright was the stage's first lead in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with a bachelor's diploma in filmmaking. After graduating from the University of the Arts London in 2012, she began creating short films through her production company BonBonLumiere. Her first film as a director was the coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) featuring David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical appreciation. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), with Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotion and landscape. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based on A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
