Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett is an Canadian actress, most well-known for her roles in films such as 'Apartment Hunting, 'Men with Brooms,' and 'The Tree of Life.' She was born in Spalding (Saskatchewan) and later moved to Alberta, Canada where she completed her high school. During her teenage years, she developed an interest in acting. She was enrolled at Montreal's National Theatre School to continue her acting training. In Moscow, she was also enrolled in the Moscow Theatre School. Her first appearance on television came in the year 1996 as a support role in the Canadian show called "The Rez.' Also, she appeared on shows such as Ready or Not' and Forever Knight' that year. In the late 1990s she made her film debut in the film called Papertrail'. She later was in films like"Men with Brooms" or 'Cypher. In shows such as "A Nero Wolfe Mystery" and "Blue Murder" she also performed supporting roles. Although she continued to appear in films throughout the decade, her film appearances were smaller than her TV roles. In 1998 she played the lead role of 'Colleen blessed' in the Canadian drama series  Power Play. The series was a total of 26 episodes, and earned both critical and commercial praise. For her role in the series, she was nominated as a Gemini Award nominee. Jude Lyon Matchett was her first child. However, she refused to disclose the father of her child. According to some sources the father of her boy is her former boyfriend. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke began dating Kari Matchett around the middle of 1990s. They got married in the month of October 1998. But the marriage ended in discord and the couple broke from each other in 2006.
